Create a private channel on Roku

Private channels can be watched by TikiLIVE registered users based on using either their credentials provided upon registering with the platform, or by using the code provided by Roku box when adding a new device.

Important: if a broadcaster wants to publish a channel on Roku, he needs to have a Roku developer account. Private channels are published immediately, without waiting for Roku to approve them. Since the Roku updates, we cannot guarantee the app will pass submission due to Roku forcing companies to use the Roku Store for subscriptions. We do not have a subscription module for Roku available, and only offer web subscriptions. This is a new rule that Roku imposed with the new Roku Application approval process. You may offer Roku from a private link and vanity code as described below.

Once you have a Roku developer account, log into it in order to publish a private channel:

1. Type your Roku account email address.

2. Enter your password.

3. Check this box so that the application remembers your credentials.

Notes:

1. Firmware version is the firmware that Roku controls. As the firmware advances at Roku, so does their development tools for us to configure the application. The “minimum” firmware required to run the application is then specified so users on old Roku Firmware versions that cannot support new features will not have access to those channels.

2. Your application version is what you input, the same version as displayed on Roku Channel on the upper right corner.

3. Vanity access code will be generated by Roku and you have to remember and share it if you want to send to other people
