Torturing is morally wrong. But then so is sitting on your ass and do nothing once you have knowledge that your compatriots may face imminent danger of some sort. Killing is morally wrong. But when done in self defence, the defendent is acquitted by a jury of his peers. Someone should make this parallel between the two situations and put it into law.
