An exploration of San Diego’s most important beach, this feature documentary combines a variety of stunning photography, including 35mm film and underwater video, to give a view of Black’s Beach as it has never been seen before. The history of the beach, and the many different ways in which people enjoy it today, is told through the voices of nearly two-dozen local residents: surfers and scientists, nudists and hang gliders, hikers and lifeguards, all of whom love Black’s for different reasons. This film is the story of a precious part of San Diego that is worth protecting, and presents a collection of experiences that make the beach a special piece of California coastline.
